Calling all parents. If you drive a Chevrolet vehicle and have kids in car seats, consider using the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system that is built in. LATCH systems help improve safety when traveling with children in car seats.

Read your vehicle owner’s manual and the owner’s manual for the car seat to ensure they are compatible. The weight allowance of the LATCH system varies by make and model, so while one car seat may work with a LATCH system in one vehicle, it doesn’t mean it will work with all LATCH systems. If the combined weight of your child and the car seat exceeds your LATCH system’s weight limit, buckle in the car seat using the traditional seat belt method.
Check behind the upholstery for the tethers and anchors of the LATCH system if you are having trouble finding them. All associated tethers and anchors will have an easy-to-recognize LATCH logo on them.
Use the top strap when buckling in a forward-facing car seat. This strap is meant to help minimize forward head movement in the event of a collision.
Each individual set of tethers and anchors is meant for a single car seat. Do not try to strap in multiple car seats using one LATCH system.
